Be A HOPES Volunteer
HOPES Volunteers are essential to our daily programming! Volunteers have the opportunity to support students experiencing homelessness academically, while gaining skills in leadership, trauma-informed care and social emotional learning.
Volunteers commit to one day a week (minimum: 2-2 ½ hours per week) each semester (Fall, Spring, and/or Summer) at their assigned site, working with students ranging from kindergarten-ninth grade. We are currently recruiting for our Spring 2024 semester, which runs from January 22-May 23! We will be accepting volunteers until April 19, 2024, so check out how you can get started below! Serve Through AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps is a government funded program focused on strengthening communities through direct and indirect service! Here at HOPES, we have two AmeriCorps opportunities:
State & National Corps Member: This is a great opportunity to engage in direct service at one of our sites! Corps Members are part of a designated team, where they will directly support our students through an after-school program centered on academic support and enrichment. Part-time and full-time opportunities are available. Benefits include a stipend, transportation allowance as well as eligibility for SNAP, healthcare and childcare benefits. VISTA Member: This is an opportunity to engage in capacity building in a professional setting. Members will be able to participate in a variety of projects in order to support organizational growth. This is a full-time, service year commitment. Benefits include a stipend, transportation allowance, potential relocation allowance as well as eligibility for SNAP, healthcare and childcare benefits. Site Coordinators are a part-time position for anyone with experience in education, social work or community development. They are responsible for creating an environment where volunteers and students can connect and grow. Time commitment: Monday-Thursday late afternoons or early evenings for 10-12 hours per week for 12 weeks. Pay starting at $23/Hour.
